The East African Wild Life Society (EAWLS) celebrated it 60th anniversary on 7 February 2017. Prof. Judi Wakhungu, Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Natural Resources, was the chief guest. The event was also attended by Dr. István Mikola, Secretary of State for Security, Policy and International Cooperation in Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Ambassador of China to Kenya, His Excellency Dr. Liu Xianfa. Members of the Society, both corporate and individual, as well as many friends of EAWLS also turned up to mark the day.  A special edition of the Society’s flagship magazine, SWARA, was launched.
