The Satima Wildlife Clubs Awards 2012

This is open to primary, secondary and tertiary students and is sponsored by The East African Wild Life Society’s Satima Initiative, the Wildlife Clubs of Kenya, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the Northern Rangelands Trust and Lewa conservancy.

This competition merges two competitions previously organised separately by the Satima Trust and Wildlife Clubs of Kenya. All entries must be sent with name, institution/school name and address.

Win a lifelong experience of an educational trip full of Fun and Leisure to some of Kenya’s best kept conservation areas

CATEGORIES

1. Public Speaking: Open to Colleges and Universities Only
Topic: What is Wangari Maathai's Legacy
Each tertiary institution to submit the names of its best contestant.

2. Photography: Open to Colleges and Universities only
Tertiary students to enter a photograph promoting the conservation of nature.

3. Essay Writing: Open to all categories
Topic: Should we let our wetlands be drained?
Bring out your impression of a wetland through essay

    • Tertiary: 750-1000 words
    • Secondary: 500-700 words
    • Upper Primary: 250-400 words
    • Lower Primary: Just write

4. Art: Open to Schools only
Bring out your impression of a wetland through art of not less than A4 Size.

GUIDELINES

a. Schools entries should be sent to: Wildlife Clubs of Kenya P.O. Box 20184 – 00200, Nairobi.

b. Tertiary entries should be sent to: East African Wild Life Society P. O. Box 20110 – 00200, Nairobi

c. All entries should be received not later than 31st July 2012.

d. Only winners will be informed by 30th August 2012.

e. Once entered your work will be the property of the Satima Wildlife Clubs Awards.
